Steve Burnside

If Leonardo DiCaprio were to take up fighting zombies instead of acting, we imagine the results would be a little like Steve Burnside. Steve is the pretty boy of the RE cast. He was thrown into an Umbrella prison during the events of RE Code: Veronica. His looks might have been his downfall there, but instead he escaped with Claire and resumed the fight against the pharmaceutical giant.

Naturally, it was only a matter of time before Claire fell head over heels for Steve and his movie star looks. So, of course, it was only natural in turn that Steve become infected and morph into a hideous bio-weapon. The heroes of Resident Evil don't have much in common, but they're all notoriously unlucky at love.

Carlos Oliviera

Carlos is a mercenary and freedom fighter who unwittingly found himself on the wrong side of the conflict. When his South American resistance group was broken up by the government, Carlos went to work for Umbrella as a security agent. Carlos was sent along with dozens of other agents to defend Raccoon City. As he eventually realized, they were all little more than cannon fodder.

Carlos joined up with Jill Valentine in a collective bid to escape the city. He even managed to synthesize a cure for the T-Virus just in time to save an ailing Jill. The pair made it out of the city, and we're still waiting to see what became of Carlos in the years afterward.

Claire may be the younger sibling in the Redfield clan, but she has a habit of looking after her older brother. Claire came to Raccoon City in search of Chris. Claire made it out alive, but she wasted no time before picking p the search for Chris and falling itno another Umbrella-induced quagmire. Once again, she managed to make it out alive, and this time she actually found Chris. These days, Claire finds trouble even when she doesn't go looking into it, but no one can argue she isn't capable of taking care of herself.

Leon S. Kennedy

If Chris Redfield is the main man of Resident Evil, Leon S. Kennedy is the determined guy clawing his way up the ladder. Leon has starred in just as many games as Chris, though one of them was the godawful Resident Evil: Gaiden. Still, it's an impressive resume.

Leon was a cop who arrived in Raccoon City for his first day on the job, only to discover the city overrun by flesh-eating monsters. He made his way through the city and into an underground Umbrella facility, eventually halting th spread of the even more deadly G-Virus.

More recently, Leon has paid the bills by working directly for the President, rescuing the President's daughter from a group of crazed Spanish cultists. Leon is enjoying a sorely-deserved break right now, but it's probably only a matter of time before he finds himself shoulder-deep in zombies again.

Rebecca Chambers

Rebecca was a member of the ill-fated STARS Bravo Team, the group who nearly all perished in their investigation at the Arklay Mountains. Alpha Team found Rebecca holed up in a closet in the mansion, but little did they know she had been very busy in the hours leading up to that.

When Rebecca first fled the initial zombie attack, she stumbled across a mysterious train carrying a prisoner named Billy Coen. The train being overrun by more zombies, the duo were forced to team up and clear out another Umbrella facility. Rebecca may seem like nothing more than a plucky sidekick, but she can more than hold her own in battle.

Barry Burton

Barry Burton's biggest claim to fame in the RE games is his stupid mouth. He was the one that coined th term "Master of Unlocking", and many gamers still haven't forgiven him for it. That's not to say any of the characters in the original game had a firm grasp on English.

Barry was the weapons expert on STARS, and he carried his trusty revolver along with him on every mission. He tried his best to assist the rest of the team at the mansion, despite the fact that he was being blackmailed by Captain Wesker the entire time. Once Wesker got the first of his many comeuppances, Barry was free to flee Raccoon City with the rest of his friends.

Jill Valentine

Jill Valentine is no slouch when it comes to headlining this franchise, either. For one thing, she's one of the few game characters t play a starring role in the live-action movies. Actually, we're not so sure that helped her reputation, but at least she has her numerous game appearances to fall back on.

Jill started out as Chris Redfield's partner in STARS. As the so-called "Master of Unlocking", Jill's former life as a cat burglar served her well on the job and off. She made the mistake of sticking around Raccoon City too long, and it as only by the skin of her teeth that Jill escaped the wrath of Nemesis. But really, can you blame Nemesis for wanting to chase her around the city all day?

Chris Redfield

Chris Redfield has the dubious honor of being one of the first people to meet the T-Virus face-to-face. One of the first outside the Umbrella Corporation, anyway – it was Chris who helped lead the Raccoon City police department’s S.T.A.R.S. squad to the mansion that housed Umbrella’s experimental facility, which kicked off the entire Resident Evil saga.

Chris and his squadmate Jill Valentine were the only two members of S.T.A.R.S. to survive the incident. After he was able to escape Raccoon City – which had been overrun by T-Virus-generated monsters – he traveled to Europe, where he sought to learn more about the virus and Umbrella’s plans for it. His search eventually drew him and his sister Claire to Antarctica, where Chris confronted his former commander in S.T.A.R.S., the treacherous Albert Wesker.

Since his battle with Wesker ended in a stalemate, Chris has dedicated himself to stopping the spread of biological weapons and terrorism worldwide. He’s one of the founding members of the BSAA – Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance – and his exceptional combat skills have made him the group’s most valuable field operative.

His latest mission has taken him to western Africa, where he and his new partner Sheva Alomar are assigned to investigate a possible outbreak of a dangerous virus. Though the Umbrella Corporation itself is long gone, its creations still survive, and so does Chris’ old nemesis Wesker, who just might have something to do with the African incident.

See all Xbox 360 cheats | Top 50 Xbox 360 cheats

Sheva Alomar

She is a well-trained B.S.A.A. agent from Africa, and serves as Chris Redfield's partner in the field. Sheva is adept with firearms and hand-to-hand combat. Her moves can even overwhelm Chris.

In the Resident Evil games, the Umbrella Corporation was the most famous outfit researching bio-weapons like the T-Virus, but it wasn’t the only one. Biological weapons and the monsters they spawn have become the focus of a new corporate arms race, creating the potential for outbreaks like the one that occurred in Raccoon City, but on a much larger scale.

Enter the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Agency, an international organization created to control the spread of biological weaponry. Sheva Alomar is one of the Agency’s newest recruits, assigned to accompany BSAA veteran Chris Redfield on his latest mission in western Africa.

Sheva was orphaned at a very young age, when her parents were killed in an industrial accident. Left to fend for herself, she joined a guerrilla group fighting to overthrow her home country’s government, and quickly displayed an aptitude for firearms, hand-to-hand combat, and mayhem of all kinds. She didn’t remain a guerrilla for very long, though – in a rare stroke of luck, she was able to emigrate to the United States and pick up a college education.

After she joined the BSAA, they sent her back to her home turf, where her knowledge of the local geography and people is a big help to out-of-town operatives like Chris. She can hold her own in a gunfight with no problems, too, and in fact, her incredible agility lets her pull off stunts that even her seasoned partner can’t manage.
